Просто нет звука. Очень странный вывод mplayer:

Насколько я понимаю, у вас HDMI-звук встал первым, вперёди обычной звуковухи.
Попробуйте так: 
mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=1,0 Зима.mp3
Если заиграет, значит так оно и есть, и вам нужно изменить порядок подключения звуковых карт:

mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=1,0 Зима.mp3
Если заиграет, значит так оно и есть, и вам нужно изменить порядок подключения звуковых карт:

Не работает. Что странно — в KDE в области уведомлений нет регулятора звука.

Если не работает, значит его захватил пульсаудио. Его надо либо убить, либо выводить звук через него.

Снес pulseaudio и pulseaudio-alsa. Не помогло.

Чему именно не помогло? Даже без пульса то, что я написал в первом посте, остаётся в силе.
Ничему не помогло — количество ошибок при запуске плеера увеличилось:
